Crime Summary for Aug. 12

The following information was provided by Montgomery County Police Department, for Germantown's 5th District: 

Youths arrested for armed robbery

Five Germantown youths were arrested for allegedly assaulting another male and taking his iPhone.

The incident was reported 6:05 p.m. Monday, July 25, in the 12500 block of Willow Springs Court in Germantown.

According to police, the male was inside his residence when he saw strangers on his property. The youths allegedly assaulted him when he went outside and asked them to leave, police said.

One of the boys allegedly took the male’s iPhone while he was on the ground, police said. Police later apprehended five males: a 14-year-old, two 13-year-olds, a 16-year-old and a 10-year-old.

Police investigate reported sex offense

Montgomery County police are investigating a female’s allegation that an unknown suspect reached inside her vehicle, fondled her and fled. The incident was reported 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, in 19600 block of Galaway Bay Circle in Germantown.

Aggravated assault reported at restaurant

An aggravated assault was reported at El Tejano, 11514 Middlebrook Road in Germantown, at 12:10 a.m. Friday, July 29. The restaurant’s security guard reportedly asked a male suspect to leave the establishment. The suspect allegedly went to his vehicle, obtained a knife and threatened the guard, police said. The suspect left the scene in a Ford Explorer. 

Man arrested for having loaded gun in vehicle

A 21-year-old man from Germantown was arrested for a weapons offense after police reportedly found a loaded handgun beneath the driver’s seat of his car. Police reportedly recovered the gun during a traffic stop 10:45 p.m. Thursday, July 28, in the 21000 block of Frederick Road in Germantown. 

Rape reported in Germantown

A rape was reported in the 12100 block of Amber Ridge Circle in Germantown at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday, July 27. Police did not release further details. 

Home burglary reported

A home burglary was reported in the 13200 block of Meander Cove Drive in Germantown at 10:32 p.m. Sunday, July 31. A female reportedly found her kitchen door ajar and discovered missing property, according to police.
