Crime Summary for Aug. 19

An aggravated assault was reported at Freestate Gas Station, 20650 Frederick Road in Germantown, on Saturday, Aug., 6 at 5:45 p.m.  A person was assaulted by an armed suspect, a 26-year-old man from Virgina who was later arrested.

A commercial burglary was reported at Fitness First, 19757 Frederick Road, in Germantown, at 2:50 a.m.  Friday, Aug. 5.

Three thefts from vehicles were reported within the Brandermill Community, on Appledowre Circle in Germantown, overnight between Saturday, Aug. 6, and Sunday, Aug. 7.  Police said entry into the locked vehicles was unknown since there were no signs of force.  Property targeted: iPod, GPS. 

A home burglary was reported in the 21100 block of Kaul Lane in Germantown sometime between Wednesday, Aug. 3, and Friday, Aug. 5.

An aggravated assault was reported in the 12300 block of Silvergate Way in Germantown on Sunday, Aug. 7, at 6:15 p.m. The person who was assaulted allegedly knew the suspect, police said.

There were two burglaries were reported overnight between Saturday, Aug. 6, and Sunday, Aug. 7.  Police said there were signs of forced entry:

• 19300 block of Circle Gate Drive in Germantown, between 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, and 8 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7.
• 20500 block of Amethyst Lane in Germantown, between 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, and 9  a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7. 

There were reports of two stolen vehicles in the Gunners Lake Community early Friday, Aug. 5:

• 12100 block of Pikeview Drive in Germantown, between 6:36 a.m. and 7 a.m. 
• 12300 block of Quail Woods Drive in Germantown, between midnight and 7:50 a.m. 

A home burglary was reported in the 18600 block of Sage Way in Germantown on Saturday, Aug. 6, between 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.

A sex offense was reported in the 19000 block of Mediterranean Drive in Germantown on Thursday, Aug. 4 at 5    p.m.  The suspect exposed himself, police said.

Police arrested a 29-year-old man from Germantown, following an aggravated assault reported in the 18700 block of Nathans Place in Montgomery Village at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1.  The suspect allegedly assaulted the victim, fired a weapon and was arrested, police said.
