Crime Summary: Masked, Shirtless Teen Attempts Robbery

The following incidents were provided by Montgomery County Police for Germantown for the week of July 3. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Police said a masked, shirtless teen unsuccessfully tried to rob someone in Germantown on June 18. The incident was reported at around 10 p.m. in the 18600 block of Nutmeg Place. Police said a male threatened the alleged victim but was successful in trying to take the person’s property. The robber was described as a black male, age 13 or 14 at 5’ 6" tall and 135 pounds.

A theft was reported Tuesday, June 18 in the 19800 block of Observation Drive and another on Thursday, June 20 in the 20200 block of Observation Drive in Germantown. Entry was forced into storage bins and property was taken.

An aggravated assault was reported in the 19500 block of Frederick Road in Germantown on Tuesday, June 25. The suspect is known to the victim.

A theft was reported in the 22300 block of Heron Neck Terrace in Germantown between 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 21 and 6:30 a.m. Monday, June 24.

There were eight thefts from vehicles and two stolen vehicles reported in the beat. No forced entry on any of the incidents. Events mainly occurred overnight. Electronics were among the items reported missing. Streets involved included: Middlebrook Road, Cross Ridge Drive, Birdseye Court, Cloverdale Place, Ambassador Drive and Circle Gate Drive and Germantown Road in Germantown. 

A 16-year-old Germantown male was arrested following reports of an attempted vehicle-related theft 10:15 am. Wednesday, June 19 the Safeway parking lot at 19718 Germantown Road.
