For Charity, Police Seek 'Tips' at Germantown Red Robin

Tip A Cop event Saturday is a fundraiser for the Special Olympics of Maryland

Instead of serving up speeding tickets, police officers will be serving burgers and fries—for tips—as part of a charity event at Red Robin Gourmet Burgers & Spirits on Saturday.

Montgomery County, Gaithersburg City and Rockville City Police Officers have teamed up for the national Tip A Cop event, in which police officers will collect tips and help serve food in order to raise funds for Special Olympics Maryland.

The officers will be at the Germantown Red Robin, at 20001 Century Boulevard, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
