Due to a gas main rupture, fire officials are testing air quality and have evacuated a construction site near Stringtown and Frederick Roads.
Fire officials have not called for home evacuations but were testing the air quality, said Cpt. Oscar Garcia, a spokesman for Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service.
At around 1:45 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to the 23100 block of Robert Tavern Drive for reports of a gas line break, Garcia said.
A construction crew at a vacant lot, struck the gas line. Garcia said officials with Washington Gas were also on the scene.
Garcia said drivers should avoid the area of Stringtown and Frederick Roads.
