Small fire at vacant gas station car wash on Frederick Road caused $6,000 damage

Fire officials are investigating the cause of small fire that caused $6,000 damage at a vacant gas station Tuesday night.

At around 9 p.m., fire fighters responded to a gas station in the 19800 block of Frederick Road for reports of smoke, where they found flames inside a car wash portal, Montgomery County Fire & Rescue spokesman Cpt. Oscar Garcia told Patch.

Garcia said the blaze was quickly extinguished; no one else appeared to be on the property.
