Germantown Crime Summary for Sept. 28

The following arrest information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department for Germantown's 5th District. It does not indicate a conviction.

Assaults

Montgomery County Police are looking for a man who reportedly tried to sexually assault someone in the 19200 block of Esmond Terrace in Germantown at 7:20 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16. Police said the man left the scene after the person screamed. The suspect is described as a Hispanic or black male, 5’7” to 5’9” at 180 to 200 pounds, with skin discoloration on the hands. Police said the suspect wore a scarf over his head and face.

A 27-year-old Germantown man was arrested following an aggravated assault reported in the 20400 block of Summersong Lane in Germantown on Monday, Sept. 12 at 7:40 p.m.  Police allege that the man threatened others with a weapon.

Robbery

Montgomery County Police are looking for a young man suspected of assaulting and robbing another person at McDonald’s, 19660 Gunners Branch Drive in Germantown, at 8:30 p.m.  Friday, Sept. 16. Police described the suspect as 18- to 19-years-old.

Burglaries

Police arrested a 28-year-old man from Columbia, Md., following a residential burglary reported in the 13600 block of Ambassador Drive in Germantown on Thursday, Sept. 15, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Police said no property was reported missing. According to Montgomery County District Court records, Stephen J. Garety was charged with fourth degree burglary, trespassing and second-degree assault.

A residential burglary was reported in the 12800 block of Climbing Ivy Drive in Germantown on Monday, Sept. 19, between 1:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.

A residential burglary was reported in the 12200 block of Eagles Nest Court in Germantown, between 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 and 1:33 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18. 

A residential burglary was reported in the 19000 block of Partridge Wood Drive in Germantown on Wednesday, Sept. 14, between 9:30 a.m. and 10:28 p.m. Police said no property was reported missing.
