Germantown Family Sues Frostburg St. After Son Dies from Concussion

The 22-year-old football player sustained injuries during practice, according to his parents.

The parents of a former 22-year-old Frostburg State University football player have filed a wrongful death suit against the coach and NCAA after their son died from injuries sustained after a concussion.

Derek Sheeley's parents claim the coaches continued to run dangerous drills that caused repeated blows to Derek's head, the Associated Press reported. Sheeley returned to practice, even after his second concussion, and died from his injuries in the 2011 season.
