Jury Could Begin Deliberations Today in Alleged Kidnapping, Attempted Murder Case

The prosecution is expected to rest its case today in the trial of Quinnton Brown, who’s on trial for the alleged kidnapping, robbery and attempted murder of a Germantown man, who claims he faked a gunshot wound in order to escape.

Brown, of Columbia, MD, allegedly was one of three men suspected in a Jan. 22 incident at a Germantown apartment complex. The three reportedly approached the victim in the parking lot at gunpoint, forced him to withdraw money from an ATM, then marched him into the woods and fired a shot toward him, according to court testimony.

Day two of the trial continued Tuesday. Jurors heard from Montgomery County Police officers who processed evidence in Gaithersburg, Germantown and York, Pa., where Brown was arrested, according to court testimony.

The jury could start deliberations this afternoon, Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge Robert A. Greenberg said Tuesday.

Brown is charged with kidnapping, first-degree attempted murder, armed robbery, first-degree assault and related conspiracy charges.

First-degree attempted murder carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.
