Medical Examiner: Manner of Rockville Teen’s Death ‘Undetermined’

Montgomery County police have officially closed their investigation into the death of Michelle Miller, 17.

Once thought to have been a murder-suicide, the death of Rockville High School Michelle Miller has been ruled undetermined.

The community mourned the death of the 17-year-old, who was found dead April 8 in the Germantown home of Army recruiter Adam Ardnt, 31. Police said Miller and Arndt suffered gunshot wounds.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore determined Ardnt’s death was a suicide, police said in a news release.

In an interview with NBC4, Capt. Marcus Jones said it was unclear who shot Miller and that officials could not determine whether she turned the gun on herself.

Family and friends of Miller said they believed she and Ardnt had a romantic relationship.

Miller's family plans to sue the Army for $10 million on grounds that the Army negligently supervised Arndt.
