Missing Germantown Teen Found

Sophonie Aristide, 16, returned home safely.

Sophonie Aristide, 16, returned home safely after going missing with Thursday 14-year old Lumnwi Awasom. Awasom returned home late Wednesday night, police said. Police sent an update today on Aristide's return home. Awasom and 16-year old Sophonie Aristide went missing last Friday.

One of the two missing germantown teens, 14-year old Lumnwi Awasom, returned home late last night, police said. Awasom and 16-year old Sophonie Aristide went missing Friday. Aristide is still missing. 

According to police spokesperson Dan Frizz, detectives had strong evidence the girls were traveling together. However, Frizz said when Awasom returned home she said the girls separated and she had no information about Aristide's possible whereabouts.

Aristide, who lives on the 19300 block of Ridgecrest Drive in Germantown, was last seen wearing blue jeans, a dark-colored shirt and a white bangle on her left wrist. Police describe he as a black female, 5'05" to 5'06" tall, 256 pounds with brown eyes and shoulder-length black hair. 

Police are asking anyone with any information concerning the whereabouts of the young women to call Montgomery County Police Family Crimes Division at 240-773-5400 or the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.  Callers may remain anonymous.

Dec. 22:

Police say two missing teens may have been traveling together when they went missing. Lumnwi Audrey Awasom, 14, and Sophonie Aristide, 16, were last seen yesterday. Awasom, who lives on the 20800 block of Ireland Court in Germantown, was last seen wearing black pants, a green and grey jacket and sneakers. She is described by police as a black female, 5'05" to 5'06" tall, 130 pounds with brown eyes and shoulder-length black hair.
