@mcpnews will help the public keep a tabs on crime

In an effort to reach more people in the community Montgomery County Police recently launched,@mcpnews, a Twitter account.

The account will release information about major accidents so drivers can steer clear, crime and other media updates, said Montgomery County police spokesman Capt. Paul Starks. The tweets will also help spread the word about activities the police department is hosting, Starks said.
