Montgomery County Police will host a countywide block party Tuesday, in an effort to reduce crime.
Police have teamed up with neighborhoods across the country for the 28th National Night Out, coordinated by the National Association of Town Watch in order to encourage neighbors to help in crime prevention by forming positive partnerships with police.
In Germantown, public events are scheduled from 8 to 9:30 p.m. in the Waters Landing community, 20000 Father Hurley Blvd. Other National Night Out events nearby include:

- Damascus Community Recreation Center, 25520 Oak Drive, from 5 to 7 p.m.
- Clarksburg Town Center, 12901 Sugar Loaf Chapel Drive, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
More than 100 communities in Maryland will host National Night Out events, according to the National Association of Town Watch’s website.
