Maryland State Police are investigating the apparent murder of a missing Frederick County man whose body was found Monday in the trunk of his car parked in a Montgomery County lot.

A missing Frederick County man's body was found Monday in the trunk of his car at a Montgomery County parking lot, Maryland State Police said.

Police said the body of John P. Ryan, 37, was found inside his black 2007 Lexus LS460L parked at a lot in the 15000 block of Somerville Drive in Derwood. 

Police said suspected marijuana and cash were also found in the trunk.

No arrests have been made and police said they have not identified a motive. 

Ryan was a businessman who specialized in property maintenance. He traveled for business throughout Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia.

Ryan’s wife reported him missing to the Frederick Police Department on Nov. 29, police said. She reportedly told police that the last time she saw her husband at their home was on the night of Nov. 27, and she told police he had left the house before she woke up on Nov. 28.

The lot where Ryan's car was found was used by many businesses. A Maryland State Police spokesperson would not disclose the specific lot in which the car was parked. The Shady Grove Metro station is located at 15903 Somerville Drive.
