Police: Arrest Made in Double Bank Robberies

Germantown man charged with robbery, theft

An anonymous tip led to the arrest of a Germantown man in connection to two bank robberies, Montgomery County police said Wednesday.

Christopher Lee Guzman, 29, of the  11400 block of Stoney Point Place, was arrested Tuesday on robbery and theft charges. 

According to police, Guzman developed as a suspect after photos of the robbery were made public. Then someone called Crime Solvers and gave police Guzman’s address.

At around 9 a.m. Oct. 25, police responded to a robbery at Capital One Bank at 12 Bureau Drive in Gaitersburg. Police claim Guzman was also responsible for the robbery of TD Bank at 19501 Frederick Road in Germantown was the morning of Oct. 15. 

Police said Guzman is being held on $30,000 bond. A court date was scheduled for Dec. 6.
