UPDATE: Body Of Missing Clarksburg Man Found In DC

Resident found Michael Steven Poe unconscious in an apartment building, WTOP reports.

Police have confirmed the body of a man found in the ventilation shaft of an apartment building in Northwest Washington, DC, is that of a missing 23-year-old Clarksburg man, WTOP reported.

Michael Steven Poe was found after a resident in The Haddington apartment building at 1840 Biltmore St. NW called 911 Wednesday night and reported an unconscious person, according to the report.

DC police said they were investigating Poe's death, and said they suspected he fell down the shaft, according to the report.

Montgomery County Police have asked for the public’s help finding a Clarksburg resident last seen in Adams Morgan on New Year’s Day.

Michael Steven Poe, 23, of the 22900 block of Peach Tree Road, has not been in contact with his family since Tuesday, according to police.

Police said Poe was last seen with friends at around 12:30 a.m. at Shenanigans Bar in Washington, DC. Police said the group split up, but Poe never returned from the District. 

Police said he was last heard from via cell phone at around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. 

Police described Poe as a white male, 5’11,″ and weighing approximately 175 pounds. He has red hair and hazel eyes. Details on what he was last seen wearing were unavailable.
