Police K9 Demo Held in Wounded Soldier’s Honor
U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Benjamin Seekell and Charlie, his military working dog, were injured in Afghanistan.
Staff Sgt. Benjamin Seekell and his working dog Charlie were injured when they hit a land mine in Afghanistan — Seekell lost his foot and the explosion ruptured Charlie’s eardrums. On Thursday, Seekell and his family were treated to a K9 demonstration by the Montgomery County Police Department’s K9 Unit. Seekell is being rehabilitated at Walter Reed Medical Center and said he plans to return to active duty. Charlie, who is in rehabilitation in Texas, will be reunited with Seekell by the end of August.
