Police: Search Continues for Missing 11-Year-Old

Information gathered during investigation led to today's search

In pursuit of an investigative lead, 20 police officers and volunteers are searching the land near Comsat Drive in Germantown and Magruder Branch trail in Damascus today with hopes of finding a missing Germantown boy, Montgomery County Police said Monday.

Eleven-year-old William McQuain was last seen at his home at Briarcliff Terrace on Sept. 30. Police found his mother, Jane McQuain, 51, dead in her bedroom on Oct. 12. An autopsy ruled that McQuain had been stabbed and beat to death, police said.

On Sunday, Montgomery County Police Department organized searches for the missing boy at Damascus Recreational Park and the Little Bennett Regional Park in Clarksburg.  Police said 80 people, five K-9 teams, and seven mounted teams, searched for William from mid-morning to dusk, but were unable to find the boy.
