Poolesville Man Charged in Potomac Shooting

A 19-year-old man from Poolesville was charged with first-degree attempted murder, the latest development in a Potomac home invasion that resulted in the shooting of a 21-year-old man, Montgomery County Police said.

DeAngelo Jackson, of the 19500 block of Jerusalem Church Terrace, was arrested without incident Saturday and charged with several related offenses tied to the shooting, police said.

At around 11:42 p.m. April 8, Montgomery County Police responded to reports of shots fired a residence in the 8500 block of Victory Lane. Police alleged that Jackson rang the doorbell, pushed his way inside and shot the 21-year-old who was there with his roommate.

The shooting victim was transported to a hospital and treated for non-life threatening injures.

Police did not provide further details about the circumstances of the shooting.

Jackson was charged attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and several firearms-related charges, according to Montgomery County District Court records accessed online.

Jackson is being held without bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, May 11, in Montgomery County District Court.
