Small Plane Crashes in Laytonsville, One Dead

Two people were injured after a plane crashed near Gaithersburg.

A small plane crashed around 7 p.m. Monday night in Laytonsville, according to Asst. Fire Chief Scott Graham with Mongomery County Fire and Rescue.

The plane crashed near the Davis Airport in the 23600 block of Pocahontas Drive,  Graham said. The airport is just north of Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg.

Graham said one person has died, while another one remains in critical condition and was airlifted to a local trauma center. The Federal Aviation Administration is on its way to the scene to of the crash
