Suspect in Restaurant Assault Still At Large

Police said a man allegedly threatened security guard with a knife, before striking the restaurant with his vehicle.

Montgomery County Police are looking for a man who allegedly drove his Ford Explorer into a Germantown restaurant after a security guard zapped him with a stun gun for pulling a knife.

Police said the incident was reported around midnight Friday, July 29, at El Tejano, at 11514 Middlebrook Road. A security guard reportedly had asked the male suspect to leave the restaurant.

The suspect allegedly obtained a knife from a car and threatened the security guard, spurring the guard to use the stun gun, according to police.

Police said the suspect reportedly removed the stun gun prongs from his chest, returned to his vehicle and allegedly drove toward the security guard, striking the building in the process, before leaving.

Police said the man drove a Ford Explorer with Maryland plates. The investigation is ongoing.
