Suspect Uses Stun Gun During ATM Robbery

Montgomery County Police are searching for a man who used a stun gun to rob a victim at an ATM machine.

Montgomery County Police are searching for a man who robbed a victim using a stun gun late Monday night at the Bank of America ATM, located at 19707 Germantown Rd.

Police have issued the following press release on the crime:

On June 27, at approximately 11:05 p.m., officers from the 5th District responded to the Bank of America in Germantown for a report of an armed robbery of a citizen. The victim advised police that as he was conducting an ATM transaction from his vehicle, the suspect walked up to the driver’s side of the vehicle and threatened the victim with a stun gun.  The victim quickly drove away, and the suspect removed the withdrawn cash and ATM card from the ATM.

The suspect is described as a white male, 25-30 years old, 6’00 tall, weighing 175 pounds. The suspect fled on foot from the scene. Patrol and K-9 units searched unsuccessfully for the suspect.         

Police are asking anyone who has information about this incident and/or the suspect(s) involved to call the 5th/6th District Investigative Section at 240-773-6200.  Those who wish to remain anonymous should call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477), or at 240-773-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of the person responsible for this robbery.  Anonymous tips can also be provided by typing “MCPD” plus the tip on a cell phone or PDA and texting it to 274637 (CRIMES).
