Townhouse Fire Displaces Residents

Fire early Tuesday caused $15,000 in damage.

Fire officials are still investigating the cause of fire early Tuesday that displaced the residents of a Germantown townhouse and caused $15,000 in damage.

About 1 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to the 12200 block of Brittania Circle, where smoke could be seen from the roof, Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Spokesman Capt. Oscar Garcia said.

Though the cause had not yet been determined, Garcia said fire officials believe the fire began in a second floor bathroom, then extended into the attic and into the roof.

No one was harmed in the blaze. The displaced occupants were staying with friends, according to Garcia.
