Vigil Tonight for Missing Germantown Boy

William McQuain, 11, has been missing since Sept. 30. Police found his mother Jane McQuain dead.

A candlelight vigil is scheduled for William McQuain from 7:30-8:30 p.m. tonight at in Germantown.

Montgomery County Police said the 11-year-old boy, a sixth-grader at MLK, has been missing since Sept. 30. Meanwhile, police are investigating the murder of William's mother Jane McQuain, who was found dead in their Germantown condo Wednesday.

Montgomery County Police said William's stepfather, Curtis Maurice Lopez, 45, was taken into custody Thursday in Charlotte, N.C., on the strength of a Maryland arrest warrant tied to Jane McQuain's death.

The vigil is being coordinated by Journey's Crossing Christian Church in Gaithersburg, where the boy was a regular attendee, a church member said in an email to Patch.

i agree for all they know this little kid could have run and hid when all this happened and is to scared to come out, my son went to school with him the last two years this is a shame and i also dont understand why it wasnt reported sooner if he hasnt been in school for more than two weeks.
