Final Public Budget Forum Postponed

The UCAB and residents will have to wait for a later date to meet again.

The seventh and final Montgomery County Council Structural Budget Forum, which was scheduled to be held Monday night at the Upcounty Regional Service Center, has been postponed.

The forum was set to be a meeting of the Upcounty Citizens Advisory Board (UCAB), and was going to be open to the public, as the past six meetings have been.

The UCAB represents over 300,000 residents from Germantown, Boyds, Clarksburg, Darnestown, Damascus, Derwood, Gaithersburg, Goshen, Laytonsville, Hyattstown, Dickerson, Barnesville, Beallsville, Tobytown, Washington Grove, Montgomery Village, Poolesville, and parts of North Potomac.

Council President Valerie Ervin was scheduled to speak at the meeting, which was meant to be an open forum for the UCAB and residents to discuss the county budget. A new date for this final meeting has not yet been set, and Ervin's presence at the rescheduled meeting has not yet been confirmed.

According to a release from the county, "residents are urged to continue to send in their thoughts on the budget to the new Montgomery County budget comment line." Anyone can do so by clicking here
