Leggett Nominates Two for Upcounty Board

Montgomery County Council will vote Tuesday on whether to approve appointees to the Upcounty Citizens Advisory Board.

A Montgomery County Council vote Tuesday might resolve who will fill two vacant positions on the Upcounty Regional Advisory Board.

An action item on the council’s agenda is whether to approve the appointees nominated by Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett:

  • Ruyan Teng, of Rockville, would replace Heinz Bachman, a Dickerson board member who resigned June 11. Bachman’s term would have expired May 31, 2012.
  • Beth Daly, of Dickerson, would replace Vineet Bhanot, a Rockville board member who resigned on Sept. 11. Bhanot’s term would have expired May 31, 2013.

The 20-member Upcounty Citizen Advisory Board represents 30,000 residents in the area north of Shady Grove Road and advises the director of the , the County Executive and County Council on various issues.

The board meets at 7 p.m. the third Monday of each month at the Upcounty Regional Services Center in Germantown.
