Animal Management Division will offer six free rabies vaccination clinics for county animal owners.

The Montgomery County Police Department’s Animal Services Division will offersix rabies vaccination clinics on Sundays in 2012.

The vaccines are free for pets of county residents and cost $4 for nonresidents. The clinics are from 10 a.m to noon at Montgomery County Animal Shelter, 14645 Rothgeb Drive, Rockville, on the following days:

  • April 15
  • May 20
  • June 17
  • July 15
  • August 19
  • September 16

State law requires that all pets— dogs, cats and ferrets— over the age of four months be vaccinated. Failure to comply could cost a pet owner a $500 fine. Residents may also have to purchase a pet license for their animals, if they are not licensed already.
