On Monday, millions of people will head towards the U.S. Capitol to witness President Barack Obama take the ceremonial oath of office for his second term.

The president will honor Martin Luther King Jr.—Monday is also Martin Luther King Jr. Day—by taking the oath of office for his second term with his hand placed on two bibles—one owned by King and one owned by Abraham Lincoln.

On Jan. 20, 2009, Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. The theme for his first inauguration was “A New Birth of Freedom.” The ceremony honored the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln’s birth. 

This year, the theme is “Faith in America's Future,” honoring the installation of the Statue of Freedom on the Capitol Dome 150 years ago in 1863.
