County Advisory Board Names New Officers for Upcounty

Montgomery Village resident is new chairman.

The Upcounty Regional Advisory Board elected new officers Monday during its regular meeting in Germantown.

Board member Kevin Linck, of Montgomery Village, was named chairman; the board’s current second vice-chair, Cherian Eapen, of Clarksburg, was named first vice-chairman; North Potomac board member Pat Seals was named second vice-chairman.

The appointments will begin after the board’s June 11 meeting, according to Catherine Matthews, director of the Upcounty Services Center.

Appointed by Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett, the Upcounty Regional Advisory Board represents 30,000 residents in the area north of Shady Grove Road and advises the director of the , the County Executive and County Council. 

The board meets at 7 p.m. the third Monday of each month at the Upcounty Regional Services Center in Germantown.

In other appointments: Robert Nelson was named chairman of the land use committee; Oneil Ormsby was named chairman of the quality of life committee.

The out-going officers are: chairman Juan Cardenas, of Gaithersburg; and first vice-chairman Matthew Leakan, of Germantown.
