Germantown Senior at Towson Earns $3,000 Scholarship for Spring

Heather Pesce, of Germantown, was awarded a $3,000 scholarship from the Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum.

Pesce, a two-time recipient of the award, is a senior majoring in computer science at Towson University.  She has maintained a GPA above 3.7 and has made the dean’s list every year she’s been enrolled at the school.

Pesce said her dream career would involve artificial intelligence and said she was fascinated with programs like Watson, Jeopardy’s computerized champ.

Four other Towson students were awarded scholarships from the Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum, totaling $15,000.

The Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum, an advocacy group for business and information technology executives, has offered scholarships to students studying business, economics and computer information sciences since 2006.

Germantown student makes dean’s list

Eddie McBride of Germantown, has made the Dean’s list at Rochester Institute of Technology for the fall 2012 quarter. McBride is a second-year student in the National Technical Institute for the Deaf.
