You are invited to attend Montgomery County Commission on Common Ownership Communities' (CCOC) Annual Forum on Saturday, October 15, 2011, 2:00 – 5:30 p.m.
The theme of this year’s forum is, “Money, Money, Money -- Best Practices for Your HOA, Condo or Co-op in Today’s Economy”. The Forum will be held in the Executive Office Building Cafeteria at 101 Monroe Street in Rockville. Light refreshments will be served.
Montgomery County’s HOAs, condos, and co-ops are feeling the impact of tightened budgets, increased delinquent fees and in some instances, the threat of bankruptcy. If you reside in a common ownership community or work with these communities, you can benefit from this Forum with best practices for weathering the current economy.
This year’s keynote speaker is Ursula Burgess, Attorney-at-Law with Rees Broome, PC, who will address the new FHA rules and the financial challenges these pose to our communities. Subsequently, four concurrent breakout discussions will cover the following topics:
· Best Practices for Managing Short- and Long-term Budgets
· Grants, Rebates and Refunds
· Associations and Mortgage Foreclosures
· An Example of Solar Energy: How One Community Did It and How It Pays for Itself
The Forum will wrap up with a town hall where attendees can participate in a question and answer period with the speakers.
Breakout panel presenters include Eric Coffman and Ryan Zerbst, Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection; Ralph Caudle, Executive Vice President and Principal of IKO Real Estate; David Brosch, President of the University Park Solar Cooperative (and owner of Green Homes Blue Sky LLC); Bruce Fonoroff, President of Park Potomac Homeowners Association and Liz Molloy, Vice Chair of the Commission on Common Ownership Communities, among others.
