T. JUDE AMEC BLACK HISTORY MONTH EVENT BOOK PRESENTATION BY KATIE MCCABE

Please join us on Sunday, February 13 at 12:30 PM for a book presentation and signing by National Magazine Award winner Katie McCabe on her new book: 'Justice Older than the Law: The Life of Dovey Johnson Roundtree'

...Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about one of our country’s great civil rights heroines, and the remarkable 15-year collaboration that led to the publication of her story. Hear Washington journalist Katie McCabe speak about Justice Older than the Law, which she co-authored with pioneering civil rights lawyer Dovey Roundtree, the woman First Lady Michelle Obama called “an inspiration.” The book, which won the Association of Black Women Historians’ 2009 prize for the best publication on an African American woman, tells the story of Dovey Roundtree’s rise from poverty in Jim Crow North Carolina to a position as one of Washington, DC’s premiere criminal defense lawyers and a revered minister in the AME Church.
