Germantown Student Earns Engineering Scholarship
Sebastian Snowberger earned the $1,000 Joyce Starks Engineering Scholarship award from the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, a WSSC spokesman told Patch. Snowberger, a Germantown resident, is a rising junior at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. The award was presented during the monthly meeting of the WSSC Commissioners.

Local Students to Attend West Virginia Wesleyan College
Three local students are planning to attend West Virginia Wesleyan College for the fall semester, the school officials announced:

  • Roland Kamara, a graduate of Northwest High School
  • Darius Lewis, a graduate of Seneca Valley High School
  • Kwasi Ofosu-Ameyaw, a graduate of Seneca Valley

Founded in 1890, West Virginia Wesleyan is a private, four-year residential liberal arts college in Buckhannon, WV. The college is closely affiliated with the United Methodist Church.

Germantown Student Earns Scholarship from Frostburg State University
Marcos Crabtree, son of Jim and Clara Crabtree, received the Academic Honor Scholarship from Frostburg State University, school officials announced. Crabtree attended Northwest High School. Further details were unavailable.

Darnestown Student Plans to Enroll at Florida Tech This Fall
Charles Szollosy of Darnestown, has announced an intent to begin studies at Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, FL, school officials announced. Szollosy, a graduate of Siena School, plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in Space Sciences: Astronomy and Astrophysics.
