D.C. United Women Unveil Regular Season Schedule

D.C. United Women soccer fans could see more than twice as many games at the ’Plex than last season, team officials said.

On Thursday, the general manager Chris Hummer released the team’s regular season schedule, which begins at home May 19 against Virginia Beach Piranhas — the regular season also concludes on the Piranhas’ turf July 14. The team is also set for a first-time match against the Fredericksburg Impact.

D.C. United Women, a member of the United Soccer Leagues' W-League, plays its home games at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds.

The team is looking to defend its undefeated stance. Fans can catch a season prelude April 21, at a “Headers for Hope” charity match against the University of Maryland.

Tryout for the 'Reserves'

DC United is fielding a reserve squad in 2012 called "D.C. United Women Reserves" that will play in the USL Super-20 League in order to continue to build for the future. Tryouts for both teams will be held all spring, with the next date this Saturday, Feb. 18.
