Public Input Sought on Parks, Recreation

M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and the Montgomery County Recreation Department are seeking public input on the 2012 Park, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS) Plan Update. Attendees can circulate among various stations that detail future needs and service delivery options for:

  • Recreation and Aquatic Centers
  • Natural Areas
  • Trails
  • Traditional Park Facilities e.g., athletic fields, playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts, picnic shelters, and ice rinks
  • Facilities Associated with Emerging Trends e.g., cricket, dog parks, community gardens, skateboard  facilities, and volley ball

Help us determine park and recreation needs for the next 10 Years! The purpose of the 2012 PROS Plan Update is to estimate the future needs for park and recreation facilities and develop specific service delivery strategies. This effort will build on the results of the 2011 Vision 2030 Strategic Plan. Throughout the Vision 2030 planning process, we clearly heard about how important parks and recreation are to the high quality of life in Montgomery County.

If you have any questions, please contact the Project Coordinator at: MCP-PROSPlan2012@Montgomeryparks.org.

NOTE: If Montgomery County schools are closed due to inclement weather, the meeting will be rescheduled.
