Maryland defeated the Pacific Northwest team, 13-3, on Saturday.

Heskett homered in the first inning.

Boyds manager Jody Pearre said: "Our team made a few errors at the start of the game, but they were able to come back by doing a good job of running the bases and getting some clutch hits with guys in scoring position. If our guys can play a little more crisp in the field defensively and keep scoring some runs, I think we’ve got a pretty good shot at making it to the playoffs."
