Calla’s former owners moved to an apartment that doesn’t allow pets. He’s not fond of being picked up or carred, but he can be super-affectionate at times. He’ll be your best friend if you offer him a thick black string or fishing pole to play with. He enjoys being brushed and will let you clip his claws. He’s good with other cats and was fine with his former owner’s children, ages 5 to 7.

Visit with the animals from noon to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and Thursday and Friday; or noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Humane Society is closed Wednesday.
