I love Italian Cold Cut subs. Call me Hoagies, Subs, or Grinders, I don't care, its the flavor that I love. In Germantown is was hard to find a good sub. I have lived here since 2000 A.D. and my search for a good cold cut seams to be un-ending. Mom and Pop are usually the best, but I could not find one around here that was any good. I found myself having to settle for Subway, Blimpy, or Quiznos, mostly good, but not good enough. Discovered Beers and Cheers in 2009, but they they only hit about a 8 out of 10 on the scale.
Then one day I spotted "Jersey Mike's Subs" while driving through Milestone. Jersey Mikes? Hey, they make good subs in NJ, and Mike is an Italian name, It had potential.
I made a U-Turn in the middle of the road and took a straight line to Jersey Mikes. I ran some pedestrians out of the road and skidded into a parking space, putting a tire up on the curb. I darted from my car to the store leaving my door open and engine still running.
This is where it gets good. When you order a sub, they cut the bread, meats, and cheeses to order while you watch. Its fresh, and you can taste it. Clearly marked on the menu is the condiment grouping known as "Mike's Way". This is lettuce, tomato, onion, oil & vinegar, and Italian spices. The service is quick and friendly, plus you will have your tasty sub pronto.
Its so good it has become a once a week stop for lunch. Plus it's a big hit with friend who try it for the first time.
