Cooling Centers Will Be Open Wednesday

Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville remains open as the county's only 24-hour cooling center. The school is at 250 Richard Montgomery Drive. Residents should bring prescription medicines, critical phone numbers and comfort items such as personal pillows.  Due to decreased demand, the White Oak Community Recreation Center is no longer needed as a 24-hour center and will close at 9 p.m. Tuesday, the county said in a news release. It will reopen from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday. About 86,000 Montgomery County homes remain without power following Friday’s storm, according to the release.
