Missing Teen, Firefighters, an Upcoming Battle and So Much More

Here's a run-down of the Germantown Patch stories for the week of Oct. 4-8.

The week's news started by looking back at the weekend festivities of Germantown's Oktoberfest. We had a great slideshow and video of German dancers. In addition, we saw how some residents found new treasures at the community flea market.  On a more sober note, police began their search for a missing Germantown teen Monday. While authorities reported Wednesday that she was found, a correction was sent out later that day. Zaphire Acevedo-Hodge, 16, is still missing.  Later, we heard about the Seneca Valley High School principal's use of social media to reach out to the community.  In other news, Montgomery County Council approved the resolution to name the county's new Business Development Corporation (BDC) Tuesday. Correction: Missing Germantown Teen Still Missing

Police have still not located the Germantown teen.

Police spokesman Dan Frizz said this morning's police report was incorrect. Zaphire Acevedo-Hodge, 16, as well as her brother  James Acevedo-Hodge, 14, are both still missing. James has been missing since April 7. Police have no further information concerning these cases.
