Two Firefighters Hurt Battling Dickerson Blaze

Fire destroys home early Saturday on Mouth of Monacacy Road; injuries were considered non-life threatening

Two firefighters were injured while battling a house fire in Dickerson on Saturday, Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service said. Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service spokesman Scott Graham told The Gazette that the fire completely destroyed the home, leaving its two residents displaced. Fire officials said in a statement that the firefighters' injuries were considered non-life threatening. One fireman suffered second-degree burns on his hand; the other firefighter was “mildly shocked” when an eclectic line touched the home’s aluminum siding. Police: Missing Dickerson Man Found in Rockville

Ali Alhaeri, 23, had been missing since Tuesday.

Police: Crash Victim Was Vacationing from Russia

Daria Yuryevna Soboleva, 20, was spending the summer in Maryland.

Police have released the identity of the woman killed in a fiery crash in Dickerson earlier this month. Daria Yuryevna Soboleva was a 20-year-old Russian citizen who was spending the summer in Ocean City, Md., but had made a trip to the Washington area at the time of the crash, according to Montgomery County Police. On June 5, Police and emergency personnel responded to reports of an accident at Dickerson and Mount Ephraim road at around 12:45 a.m. According to investigators, a 2002 Honda Civic traveling east on Dickerson Road left the roadway and struck a railroad bridge overpass. Police: Germantown man hospitalized, remains in serious condition

A fiery crash in Dickerson early Tuesday left an unidentified female driver dead and a Germantown man in serious condition, Montgomery County Police said. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene; police did not reveal her identity pending notification of family. Front-seat passenger Oscar Armando Chavez Martinez, 23, of the 12900 block of Boggy Trail Way, was flown to Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with life-threatening injuries.
