Jeff Kydd, Neighbor

Jeff Kydd has lived in Montgomery County since 1990, and in Germantown since 1996.  He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry at Duke University, and then was a research scientist at Columbia University in New York City, the National Eye Institute in Bethesda, and a start-up biotech company in Virginia.  In between, he became a day trader for a year and a half.  In the early 1990s, he participated in the Science-By-Mail Program of the McKinley Museum, in which he gave science lessons by mail to 5th grade students.  In 1995 he was appointed to the Rockville Commission on Science, Technology, and the Environment, where he served until moving to Germantown.  In 2002, he joined the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, where he works today.
